Actually finished this one before Separation Anxiety, the two paintings are meant to be shown side-by-side. Reese came up with the title while we were watching late-night tv ads for phone sex chat lines.

Separation Anxiety Oil on Sewing Table. 32"x32"

This was the first piece that I completed directly after losing my job in April (hence the title). One morning, while walking my dogs, I found a sewing table on the sidewalk in near-perfect condition. The rectangular cut-out in the upper-left quadrant can be removed (in order to hold a sewing machine). I painted the insert piece separately from the rest, using a #2 watercolor brush. I also kept the original mustard-colored wood framing around the table that cannot be seen in this photo.

Gettin' Hitched!

For the 2 or 3 people that actually look at this blog: I apologize for the lack of new posts. I have new work that is complete and ready to be photographed as soon as I get my shit together. Between losing my job and getting married, painting has sat bitch for most of the summer... but not for long.

On August 28th, Teresa and I will be married by Judge Mark Chow at the King County Courthouse.

Back From the Dead

I've been on a vacation from painting for the last two months or so, hence the absence of new work on this page. I'm gearing up for a new group of oils which will consist mostly of canvases with a few found surfaces thrown in the mix. In the mean time I will be posting photos of most of my completed oils from 2004-2007, I might even throw in some old shit from my Cornish days! Stay tuned.
